While most people headed to a beach or family BBQ this past weekend, Kanye West snatched up a cool $3 milli by performing at a wedding reception. And it wasn’t any old wedding either.
Yeezy was asked by President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan to
perform at his grandson’s wedding reception this past Saturday at the
Hotel Royal Tulip, and Kanye showed up and showed out. Unfortunately, no
one seemed to be watching. While he rapped to some of his biggest hits, wedding guests chatted in front of the stage, and posted photos of themselves instead of vibing to Ye’s greatness.
Rude.
Other artists who have reeled in big bucks for performing at
functions for super rich folks include, Beyonce who snagged a reported
$1 million for performing for Gaddafi’s son and later donated the money
to a Haiti Relief charity, and Drake who snagged a quarter million for
performing at a Bar Mitzvah for the son of NBC President Jeff Zucker in
2011.
