MUIGIZAJI, MEGAN LYNNE YOUNG AWA MISS WORLD 2013

Philippines—Heavy favorite Megan Lynne Young form Olongapo City bested 24 other aspirants in the 2013 Miss World Philippines pageant Sunday night at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City and took home the coveted title, P1 million worth of management contract from the pageant organizer, plus gifts and services from the contest’s sponsors. 
 

Young, 23, is a local television personality who first gained prominence as an “avenger” in the GMA 7 reality talent search “Starstruck.” She later moved to ABS-CBN where she scored hosting gigs and other acting projects.

On her first foray in a nationwide pageant, Young also bagged the lion’s share of special awards—Best in Fashion Runway, Miss Sports by Fila, Miss Reducin, Miss Olay, Miss Laguna World, Miss Bold and Glamorous by Revlon, Miss Figlia and Miss Bench Body.

Palawan native Janicel Lubina placed second and was proclaimed First Princess which comes with a P150,000 prize money.

The 18-year-old Lubina, also the reigning Miss Bikini Philippines set to represent the country in the Miss Bikini International competition later this year, was also proclaimed Best in Swimwear and Miss Photogenic.

Zahra Bianca Saldua from Las Piñas City, a Muslim woman, was crowned Second Princess and got P100,000. She was the lone candidate to parade in a one-piece swimwear and did not take off her sarong in the swimwear competition. She was also proclaimed Miss Friendship and Miss Pantene.

Nueva Ecija’s Bianca Paz, who placed fourth in the pageant’s maiden edition in 2011, landed in the same spot this year and was proclaimed Third Princess. She took home P75,000, along with the distinction of being Miss Redoxfat and Best in Long Gown, the same award she received on her first shot at the title.

Rounding up the Top 5 is Omarie Linn Osuna, 20, from Olongapo City.

Young will try to bag for the Philippines its first victory in the 63rd Miss World pageant in Indonesia on Sept. 28.

Masuala ya Tume imalize kazi yake lini, ushiriki wa Zanzibar na idadi ya wajumbe kutoka Zanzibar kwenye Bunge la Katiba, Wajumbe wa Bunge Maalumu wanapatikanaje na kadhalika ni masuala ambayo yanaweza kupatiwa mwafaka kwa viongozi kukaa na kuzungumza.

Haya sio masuala ya kushindwa kujenga mwafaka labda kuwe na nia mbaya dhidi ya mchakato wa kuandika Katiba mpya. Katiba sio suala la kufanyia siasa. Katiba ni uhai wa Taifa.

Ni wazi kuna kundi kubwa ambalo halijitokezi waziwazi ambalo lingependa pasiwe na katiba mpya ya Wananchi. Kuna kundi lingine ambalo lingependa mchakato wa kuandika Katiba uendelee kwa miaka mingine zaidi ili kuweza kupata Katiba bora. Kuna kundi la Wabunge ambao kwa chinichini wanataka mchakato uendelee, uchaguzi uahirishwe mpaka mwaka 2017 na wao waendelee kuwa wabunge.

Netanyahu heads to U.S. to challenge Iran’s charm offensive

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has left for New York early Sunday in a bid to challenge Iran’s diplomatic charm blitz last week.

“I intend to tell the truth in the face of the sweet talk and charm offensive of Iran” Israeli public radio quoted him as saying as he boarded the plane at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport, Agence France Presse reported.

“Telling the truth at this time is essential for world peace and security and, of course, for Israel's security,” he was quoted as saying by the agency.

Netanyahu earlier this week described Iranian President Hassan Rowhani's speech to the United Nations General Assembly as “cynical” and “full of hypocrisy.”

The Israeli PM will meet U.S. President Barack Obama at the White House on Monday then return to New York to address the General Assembly on Tuesday, AFP reported.

It pays to be broke ass broke if you're Mary J. Blige's foundation -- a bank just agreed to slash the group's debt by nearly $200,000 .
According to legal docs, TD Bank reached a settlement with Mary J.'s charitable group ... agreeing to let it pay a mere $125k -- which might not sound like a great deal, until you realize the total tab was a whopping $322,000!
As source first reported ... the Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now was sued last year when it defaulted on a $250k loan. The charity even blamed the bank ... claiming it should've know the group's finances were in shambles.
According to the settlement, the group will pay back $15,000 immediately -- and then make 12 easy payments of $9,166.
We're guessing TD Bank agreed to the deep discount because ... some money is better than none at all.

CHRISTIAN MILLAN AFANYA YAKE KINOMA NOMA KWENYE DANCE WITH STAR

Christina Milian dipped it low on the dance floor while making her debut on Season 17 of “Dancing With the Stars.” With her idol Jennifer Lopez looking on, she and her partner Mark Ballas performed a contemporary dance. Carrie Ann Inaba called her a “gorgeous dancer,” while Bruno Tonioli called it “introverted.” They received a score of 22/30 from the judges.

Despite her musical background, Milian was nervous about dancing. “I think people are gonna have higher expectations of me as a performer, but I’ve never danced with a partner before,” she said.

Once it was over, she felt happy with her performance. “Thank you to my partner @MarkBallas tonight was a really special performance,” she said. “And to all the supporters who watched, I love you! Man it was a long day today but by the time I performed I felt completely confident.”

Milian is also in the studio working on her fourth album for release on Young Money.

50 CENT :MISTARI YA CONTROL ILIKUWA NI MUHIMU KWA GEMU YA HIP HOP

50 Cent knows or thing or two when it comes to competition. So how does the hip-hop titan feel about Kendrick Lamar’s explosive verse on Big Sean’s “Control”? He weighed in with his thoughts during an interview with Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97.

“It’s a breath of fresh air for me because he’s saying there’s no more ‘Kumbaya, my Lord,’” said the G-Unit mogul. “Everybody’s not sitting by the campfire being friends.”

He applauded the Compton MC for shaking things up. “His competitive energy, that’s necessary for hip-hop,” continued 50. “That’s what it is. Our culture’s competitive. We can smile, we can take pictures, but you know that the next presentation that person is gearing up for is supposed to shake everything. If yours ain’t right, bye bye.”

As a New York native, he didn’t take offense to the “king of New York” line. “That was the line necessary to make everybody stop,” said Fif. “It all was a response to king of New York, not to him actually saying their names.”

He didn’t feel the need to record a response, but was reminded of his own call-out record “How to Rob.”

While everyone from Meek Mill to B.o.B have recorded responses, 50 thinks Big Sean and Jay Electronica are the ones who should really feel threatened.

“I would’ve changed it,” he said. “It’s Big Sean’s record and nobody knows. Everybody’s talking about Kendrick. The people that should really be upset should be Big Sean and Jay Electronica ’cause he’s saying what his intentions are and they done forgot your verses was on the joint.”
